I'm gonna scrub this virus from the face of the Earth.
Character: Leon Scott Kennedy
Series/Fandom: Resident Evil
Original or Alternate: OU
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Sexuality: Straight
Appearance:Side-parted dark blond hair, sleek muscular frame, 5'10 high. Good-looking. Leon was brought to Econtra in his work clothes, namely a black jacket, gray shirt, black cargo pants, and combat boots. These are complemented by chest/shoulder straps with accompanying sheaths, a gunbelt, and a smaller belt around his right leg for the various weapons, ammunition, and items at his disposal.
Personality: A conservative man of old-school heroics. Leon started out as naive and idealistic, sworn to a cop's duty of serving and protecting. In the seven years since the Raccoon City incident he has matured into a competent and level-headed federal agent with a penchant for dry sarcastic wit (often expressing itself in the form of B-movie style one liners). This adapting to the ways of the world has done nothing to his morals though; he may no longer be a cop but he still fights for what's right out of an internal sense of duty. Loyal to friends and comrades, he's a good man to have at your back when you're down to your last clip and the undead are tearing at your door.
Abilities/Strengths: Fleet of foot and in peak physical condition, Leon is skilled in multiple firearms (excelling in headshots) as well as knife-fighting and special forces-style hand-to-hand combat. These have largely been used in combatting the living dead and other Bio Organic Weapons spawned by Umbrella. His training as a federal agent has given him knowledge in security, surveillance, and infiltration. He can also create and administer healing compounds using herbs native to Raccoon City and certain parts of the world.
Notable Possessions: As of his second arrival into Econtra, Leon's armory is composed of two handguns and his trusty knife. For non-weapons, he carries binoculars, a flashlight, a grappling hook, and a GRVT (a video-capable radio with satellite transmission). He has also returned with two items given to him during his first stay, by the two who meant most to him: a silver crucifix from Melaka Fray and a pistol-mounted noise suppressor from Sylvanas Windrunner.
Weaknesses: Like all 'good' guys, Leon's morals can be used against him. He also has a tendency to bite off more than he can chew. When this happens he's usually saved only by a stroke of luck or outside intervention, often both. Last but not least is a general sense of misfortune in matters of the heart.
History: A chronological approach follows.
1977. Leon Scott Kennedy is born.
May 1998 An outbreak of the Umbrella Corporation's T-Virus occurs at their research lab near Raccoon City. This leads to several murders being reported in the neighboring Arklay Mountains.
July 23 1998. The Raccoon Police Department's Special Tactics And Rescue Squad is tapped to investigate the murders. Bravo Team is deployed first but contact is soon lost.
[Resident Evil] July 24 1998. STARS Alpha Team is deployed to look into Bravo Team's disappearance. Attacked by mutated dogs they take refuge in the Spencer Mansion, under which rests Umbrella's secret lab. Team members Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield endure the mansion's horrors and discover Umbrella's plan to create the perfect Bio Organic Weapon. They destroy the ultimate BOW known as the Tyrant and escape the mansion before it self-destructs.
In the aftermath, the surviving STARS members push to have Umbrella's activities investigated. Their efforts are thwarted by police chief Brian Irons, who is on the company's payroll. STARS is disbanded.
September 22 1998. Umbrella operatives raid the laboratory of researcher William Birkin and take samples of the new G-Virus he had been working on. The mortally wounded Birkin ingests the G-Virus and mutates into the G, a hideous creature beyond natural evolution that can implant its embryos into other creatures. Meanwhile, sewer rats feed on broken vials of the older T-Virus. This leads directly to the infestation of Raccoon City, turning many of the inhabitants into zombies.
[Resident Evil 2] September 29 1998. Leon Scott Kennedy is an incoming member of the Select Police Force, the RPD's new elite unit in the wake of STARS' dissolution. In what is supposed to be his first night on the job, he enters Raccoon City and discovers that the living dead now roam its streets. He teams up with a girl named Claire Redfield and retreats to the RPD headquarters to find a way out of the infested metropolis. Along the way he meets and falls in love with a woman named Ada Wong, who turns out to have an agenda of her own as a spy for Umbrella's rival. She is believed killed after saving Leon from the relentless Tyrant. He also meets Sherry Birkin, William's young daughter, who is later impregnated by G. Claire is able to administer a vaccine for her and she escapes the city with the duo after Leon obliterates G with the train's self-destruct mechanism.
October 1 1998. The US government sterilizes Raccoon City with a massive bomb (or bombs). Following this, Leon agrees to work for the government as part of an anti-Umbrella organization in exchange for Sherry's safety, who has lingering traces of the G-Virus in her blood.
[Resident Evil: Survivor] November 1998. Leon sends private eye Ark Thompson to the Umbrella-owned Sheena Island to investigate its activities there.
[Resident Evil: Code Veronica] December 1998. Leon plays a part in the Redfield siblings' reunion when he notifies Chris of his sister Claire's whereabouts, following her incarceration on Rockfort Island.
2003. Umbrella finally folds after evidence of its' crimes are made public. Leon is then recruited into a secret government agency under the direct control of the President.
[Resident Evil 4] 2004. The President's daughter Ashley Graham is kidnapped by ex-federal agent Jack Krauser and brought to rural Spain, into the hands of a cult known as Los Illuminados. Leon, who had just been ready assume his new job as guardian of the President's family, is sent to retrieve her. He discovers that the local villagers and the cult itself are infested with Las Plagas, a legion of parasitic lifeforms under the control of cult leader Osmund Saddler. Their plan is to infect Ashley and send her back to America where she will in turn infect her father, thus bringing him (and the nation) under Saddler's power. Though both he and Ashley are injected with the Plagas, they are able to cleanse themselves of it with a sterlization laser. With help from Ada Wong, Leon then defeats both his ex-comrade Krauser and the Plaga-mutated Saddler before fleeing the island wih Ashley as it explodes behind them.
[Econtra] Just minutes later, Leon S. Kennedy is Drafted to join the fight against the Entropi. At first he is pessimistic of a war with a seemingly invincible foe. But as he adjusts to life in the city he decides that he'd rather fight to protect the other Drafted. He also forms bonds with a handful of other soldiers in the war, notably Melaka Fray and Sylvanas Windrunner. Life for Leon goes as well as it can in such an environment... until a few days after the dawn of the New Year, he is suddenly returned to his world.
Enraged and heavy-hearted at losing the people he grew close to, Leon searches for ways to return to Econtra (perhaps a first among the unwilling Drafted). When it becomes clear that his world holds no means for him to do so, mystical or technological, he coldly throws himself back with renewed zeal into his old war: crushing Umbrella's legacy.
[Resident Evil Degeneration] 2005. The WilPharma Corporation has developed a vaccine against the T-Virus even as bio-terror incidents continue to escalate. Leon is deployed to Harvardville Airport to contain a T-Virus outbreak there and save civilians trapped within. Reunited with his old friend Claire Redfield, he discovers the perpetrator to be Curtis Miller, who demands the US government reveal the truth behind its involvement with Umbrella and the destruction of Raccoon City. Following a battle with the G-Virus mutated Miller at WilPharma HQ, Leon and Claire realize he was part of a larger scheme and apprehend the company's head researcher Frederic Downing, who had used Miller as a means of peddling the T-Virus, the T-Vaccine, and footage of the G monster to a Third World dictator. Leon and Claire part ways shortly after that, and it is on the helicopter carrying him to his next mission that Leon is pulled again into Econtra.
This time, it's to the bitter end.
